Apponaug Brewing Company
Biography & Highlights
You'll hear the bass rattling the brick down on Knight Street long before you reach the taproom doors. Apponaug Brewing sits right inside an old riverside mill building in Warwick, and it doesn't feel like your usual pristine brewery setup. There's a raw, industrial edge to the whole room, with heavy pipes overhead and concrete floors that bounce every drum kick straight into your chest.
Order a pint at the main counter and you won't wait long, even when local indie rock bills pack the place out. The sound system handles loud guitars surprisingly well without turning the vocals into total mud, which isn't always the case in these converted brick spaces. People crowd around the low stage area, spilling drinks and nodding along while the ambient hum of brewing tanks mixes right in with the feedback loops.
It's a loose crowd where nobody cares if you're spilling IPA on your sneakers or standing right by the speaker stack all night. You just grab your glass, find a patch of floor near the brick wall, and let the noise wash over you while the river flows right past outside.
